You stay classy now David's.....
So this is where we are now as a club, running gossip columns from the gutter press speculating on the future of the manager ON OUR OWN FUCKING WEBSITE

Does any other club do this shit? Anywhere?

And yet people actually defend this pair of cunts?

Leicester then Everton - Steve Walsh
Southampton then Spurs - Paul Mitchell
Birmingham then West Ham - David Sullivan and Barry Silkman

I Can't think why we don't have a coherent transfer policy and scouting system...

What I agree with there is that we don't know what really goes on and who insists on what.

It is unfair to blame any of those involved when we don't really know what's gone on. Sulliva, Bilic, Henry or Doris the Tealady.

Remember the gold rule:

if the signing is a success its all down to sully.

If the signing is a disaster, it is all down to the manager

Re: You stay classy now David's.....
That's not actually true that Sullivan said that he "likes to chose a few himself" Lily. I remember that he said he "would select a player but never more than one per season or 1 in 20 signings". That was when BFS was our manager but I really think this kind of thing is just unfair gossip to blame Sullivan rather Bilic for a disastrous window.

Now none of us know how the conversations go or what weight Sullivan carries but there really was no doubt about Zaza and Tore being Bilic choices and not just from C&H either. Bilic was bigging up Tore before we actually signed him iirc.

Zaza is a difficult one but I believe Sullivan when he says that our scouting system under Tony Henry, identifies the best players in order of preference by position. We know that Zaza must have been well down the list behind all the big names we supposedly tried for and got turned down by.

It may be that due to having a budget limitation Bilic went for free transfers like Nortdveit & Feghouli rather than go for someone more expensive further up the list but who knows except those inside the boardroom.

What is unfair imho is to categorically blame Sullivan for failed signings when we have a chief Scout and a Manager that are paid huge sums to make those calls...and don't forget this statement on the front page of our 2016 audited accounts -

"Major investment in the first team squad of £53.3m (2015/16) and £45.7m (2016/17 to date);"

I'm in full agreement as to being skeptical on fan forum claims as to exactly who is ultimately responsible for exactly which signings.

In the old days you knew it was the manager left to manage, including which players to buy, based on scout reports and checking out the players in action themselves.

We have heard it from Sullivan's mouth that he likes to choose a few himself, so our situation, to those of us not privvy to being flies on the walls, is far from clear.

Not digging you out Trev. Even if it could be shown that Bilic had the final say in each instance, I'd still have my reservations about the options he was given.

All this sidetracking so that we are talking about the managers future is just FINE and DANDY
It's not as though we have a vital match tomorrow against a focused opponent or ANYTHING

''the board's mouthpiece''

So the board said that Slav signed all the shit players ?

Again, happy to be proven wrong, but that doesn't sound like proof of much.

''However, we do know that Bilic chose Zaza and Tore as well as Feghouli and Nordtveit while Calleri was Sullies only regular punt.''

I've seen claims of this sort repeated by various people across the site. They might well be true and others are likely better informed than me.

I'm never quite sure, however, on what basis people make them. Unless you know which options the board were willing to sanction, it seems a leap to criticise Bilic for taking the ones he did.

Tore is the obvious exception - and a deeply unflattering one for Bilic - as we'd have been better off with no one rather than him.

How do people know what the various possibilities in terms of buying a striker (Zaza) or a winger (Feghouli) the board was willing to sanction ? Never mind how they might have gone about approaching the negotiations for them.

If Bilic had the choice of Gabbiadini and Redmond but chose those other two donkeys we ended up with, fair enough, I'm more than happy to be proven wrong. Until then, despite Bilic's failings, I'm not sure that the responsibility for all this isn't shared.

Re: You stay classy now David's.....
very rarely are managers actually sacked as we know the word, usually they leave by mutual consent with 50% of their contract paid up.

geoffpikey 5:09 Fri Mar 31
Re: You stay classy now David's.....
Was kind of joking. If they sack Bilic, he gets full pay-off, obviously. It's just ridiculous he has to deal with the questions when he can't even say: look what the club says.

Because the club is republishing those very rumours on its official channel.

I can forgive mistakes, bad signings. 20/20 hindsight and all that. What I can't forgive is actively jumping in the same shit-filled tabloid trough that is seeking a story in unsettling OUR club's manager. Or maybe they're feeding the rumours themselves. cunts,

Re: You stay classy now David's.....
TBF he might not be that much of a lawyer, the club absolutely ripped him to shreds when he tried to invoke what he thought was a get out clause when Tottenham cam sniffing for him 6 months after he joined the club.

Re: You stay classy now David's.....
Today's MediaWatch is just as unbelievable.

"Meanwhile, the manager has been speaking ahead of tomorrow's game at Hull City, and he tells Sky Sports that he is not bothered by any speculation around his position."
Read more at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2017/march/31-march/mediawatch-31-march#RVRJ4fXW1CSrq32B.99

That's the CLUB writing those words in quotes. Slaven having to answer to the speculation that the CLUB reprinted yesterday on its OFFICIAL site. Utter cocks. Or the PR/comms "manager" has gone totally rogue.

Either way, it's pitiful. Bilic is a lawyer too. I bet he knows full well what counts as constructive dismissal.

SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP!!!!!!!

Willtell 3:11 Fri Mar 31
Re: You stay classy now David's.....
To be fair to the owners they have done well investing in players every year. This last summer was fucked up by the choice of players which was abysmal. Up until that summer we spent more than I ever expected after years of owners with deep pockets and short arms.

Now Bilic approved every one of summer's signings according to official statements from the club but, how much of that is down to pressure from Sullivan can only be speculated at. However, we do know that Bilic chose Zaza and Tore as well as Feghouli and Nordtveit while Calleri was Sullies only regular punt.

Sullie then put that right by spending big money on older players (Fonte & Snodders) to back the manager. That's more than any previous owners have done but they are classless - well especially Sullivan. But if you're a midget and a self-made billionaire I guess he thinks he can walk on water...

The real problem is that Bilic is universally liked so fans won't want to hear any evil so have to blame someone else or the new stadium...

Re: You stay classy now David's.....
This is truly a shambles, even by our standards. It's no wonder so many corners of the media laugh at our business. Sullivan is rapidly turning into Trump with his ego knowing no boundaries and his recent delivery of fake poll results.

As long as he is in charge our transfer activity will continue to be revealed on social media via his son and his pawns (or 'ITKs' as they're known) will continue to attempt to destabilise the current manager's position. It's beyond farcical now.
